About
The Methodist Church was built in 1847 and the Wesley Centre, as it is now called, about 10 years later as a Methodist School for the village with an attached Head Teacher's school house.
The property has always belonged to the Methodist Church and still does. In 1901 it became the County Council Primary School and remained as the village school until the new school was built in High Street in the 1980s.
After that the Methodist Church decided to keep the property for its own and community use.
As well as our own events, other community groups meet in the Centre:
Knit and Natter, Needlecrafts, Art, W.I., Carpet Bowls, Thoresby Singers, Brownies.
The Village History Archives are located upstairs in the Wesley Centre.
